December!

wow.... so its been a long while sense I've blogged! k.... well to start off:

NOVEMBER: the main highlight of that month for me was having almost everyone here (in Utah) for thanksgiving!!!! it was the total bomb just to see everyone and hang out and stuff!

and now for December:
1. my dad, Allen W. Norris had his 25Th birthday! (the 38Th time!)i love him and his crazy self. and believe me he still acts like a 2 year old :) i admire him for all that he does and the influence he has on my life. he is the hardest worker i know and is very smart with the things that matter; sure he doesn't waste his time with watching jeopardy or shopping, but he is definitely the best!
2. i went tree hunting on Saturday! it was really fun and exciting! i will be putting the pictures on in a couple days and you'll all be amazed!
3. I've really got into the Christmas spirit this year. this is mostly because i have great young women leaders who like to tell lies! jk... our project last week on Wednesday was to go to some ppl's house and ask them if we could do anything for them that night. but what we didn't know was that our leaders had already gone to the ppl's houses and asked them to tell the YW that they didn't need our help. so after we had gotten rejected 3 times and were thinking that this was the lamest mutual ever we went to the outskirts of town to a barn that had 3 pregnant cows and 2 baby cows. an older brother in my ward started telling the story of Jesus Christ and told of how he was rejected and asked us if when he comes knocking on our doors do we let him in or do we reject him as we were rejected? it brought the whole Christmas season to the forefront of my mind and helped me to evaluate my life and if I'm accepting Christ to be in my life and help me out instead of me telling him that "I'm OK and i don't need help right now"

so that was my update of whats happened so far and all that good jazz :) love you all and hope to see you soon. have a wonderful Monday tomorrow and a great holiday season.

Crushcrushcrush or Crashcrashcrash?

When you hear crushcrushcrush you might think of a song by Paramore. But what do you think of when you hear crashcrashcrash??
Yesterday, as I was driving to the bus stop, I tipped over in the blue truck. It is easily the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and something I'll never intentionally repeat.
What is left of the rear-view mirror (as of today that is fixed)

Top and bottom: dents left by the crash (which can be completely removed)

The truck was on top of the bushes in the very middle of the picture.
This is where the drivers' front tire was.
This is where the back tire was.
Who knew that this road would be where I would have my first wreck??

Story Time: Well basically the road was really wash-board-ish and I was going not even 40 MPH around a corner and the tires slipped and went into a skid. I over corrected and then over corrected again and then I pressed on the brake. As I did that and the car made like a U-turn and went off the road, hit some sage brush, and tipped on to its side. No one was hurt, but my mom is a little sore. We got out through the passenger side door and walked about half a mile back to the house. My dad met us outside and asked where the car was... Yikes! Then he asked if I would walk out to the car with him. I nodded and went to change me shoes and gather myself so I would stop crying. As we started walking my dad said stuff like: "well next year we'll have to register you in the demolition derby" and "at least i waited till i was 17 to get in a car accident" mostly just making fun of me and having a good laugh at my expense. When we got there he helped me climb back into the car and grab the keys; which were still in the ignition. While we were doing that mom had call the bishop (who is a mechanic) and he was on his way. Once he got to my crash site he connected his truck and our blue truck and pulled it on to all four tires. After that him and dad took off two of the tires that had popped off the rims from tipping over and being pulled up again. The bishop took us into town and had another mechanic put the tires in a machine that fixed them. He drove us back to my crash site and helped dad put the tires back on. He and his wife went back home while me and dad drove back to our house. Dad and I washed the car so that if any acids leaked, then the paint wouldn't be damaged. The cost to replace "my artwork" (that's what my dad calls it anyway) is about 11 hundred, but that's mostly because its labor intensive. The car just needs its rear-view mirror replaced (which happened today) and the dents banged out and the 2 doors painted.
Through this traumatic experience I've learned a few things:
1. you can find humor in just about anything (just like Elder Wirthlan said in conference)
2. little things like gravel and rocks can influence alot or perhaps..... the little things like not always saying i love you and sometimes being angry or frustrated with someone and not saying your sorry.
3. WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT if my mom hadn't been wearing hers, she might have fallen on me and I could be in bigger trouble than I already am.
4. Sometimes going slow isn't slow enough. You don't have to be everywhere at once. don't try it- its impossible and stupid.
5. As bishops wife said- "you can replace and fix up a car, but losing a child or family member is irreplaceable."
6. God is only a prayer away. Yesterday I forgot to say my morning prayers and got a not-so-nice reminder.

October already!!!!

Holy Moses! can you believe its already October! I've been geekin out about it all day! Ha Ha well i was bored so i thought I'd give you and update and write down my life's story... so here goes.

once upon a time in a land....somewhere.... lived ME! I did a ton of amazing things and was a super hero..... THE END :) ha ha ya right!
so basically, life is good, teachers are lame, and i have friends that make me laugh so hard i cry.i miss mesa like crazy and can't wait to visit. nothing crazy or wild has happened to me lately which means something big is going to happen soon or i might have to cause so serious craziness.... JK I'm not becoming that much of a rebel... Aww shoot! i just remembered that tomorrow is Thursday...not Friday. well dang. ha ha o ya today me and this really cute and funny girl angel went with me to lunch at Mel's dinner and on the way back to the school she started saying some thing (i can't quite remember how this started) and i was like lets make a rap! so she was all like OK! so here it is so far..
i was walkin down the street when all of a sudden..... an old man said aww shoot dang wow (you have to say the "wow" part really slow and like your drunk)
k well i just read it and it looks retarded but when i rap it, its totally pimp.....well i guess I'll have to get it on video so you can see what a total gangster i am! well i gots to get outta here! love ya peeps! WOOT WOOT!!! (new fav. sound---not sure why, but fun to say none the less :)
P.S. this is probably the strangest thing I've ever blogged... i guess there truly is a time for everything.....

Permit Story and Other "Stuff"

Well... naturally, being the girl that I am I spent a long time deciding what to do with my hair today..... Today I went to the DMV to get my drivers permit, only to find that the DMV isn't open on Fridays or Saturdays... bummer! It was so sad to have wasted all that time just so I could look cute on my permit.... ha ha well I thought I at least looked OK today, but I need a second opinion for next week when i go on a day they're actually open!...Would my drivers permit have turned out good if i would have gotten it today?? sorry they're just black and white the camera was having some difficulties
